Google's Android 2.3 operating system has been found to have a data leak vulnerability that can allow attackers to exploit personal data.
Xuxian Jiang, a computer security researcher with N.C. State University, has identified a leak in the latest version of the OS known as Gingerbread which leaves user data accessible to attackers.
Google has issued patches for similar leaks in previous versions of Android.
Simply by clicking on a link, users can open the door for attackers to their personal data stored on the device's SD card.
Jiang confirmed the Gingerbread exploit on a Nexus S smart phone.
