UPDATE: Spyker extends deadline until further notice.
Swedish government officials and Dutch car maker Spyker have both made efforts to rekindle the talks to salvage a Saab sale. After talks had collapsed, GM announced Friday that it would phase out and shutter Saab.
Officials in Sweden are eager to rescue Saab fearing its collapse would have large economic repercussions. Meanwhile Spyker has claimed to have addressed a number of GM's concerns from previous discussions and resubmitted a bid that expires Monday 5pm EST. Was the GM press release gamesmanship in tough negotiations?
Here is some sentimental Saab video.
