Make no mistake. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is not giving up his iPhone, but says that Android has bettered Apple in several ways.
Wozniak tells The Daily Beast that while his primary phone is an iPhone, he wishes it did all that his Android phone does.
He bemoans Siri performance, and praises Android's voice-recognition capabilities. Navigation is another area where Woz rules in favor of Android.
I'll have to back Woz on Siri. It is an ongoing source of disappointment.
Siri is amazing when it works, but infuriating when it doesn't. Siri must connect with Apple's servers for voice-recognition to work, and for whatever reason or reasons this connection fails far too frequently. Why must this be required for simple commands like calling contacts or setting an alarm? Siri often evokes surly.
Woz recently chose the Motorola Droid Razr over the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. He still recommends the iPhone for most users.
Check out my brief visual narrative of living with Siri failures.

Apple failures
Wed, 01/18/2012 - 10:40 — MassnativeWe have an Ipod Nano that we use in our bedside alarm clock. We prefer to wake to podcats of a comedy radio broadcast we've become fond of over the years. Sadly, this unit will not play more than one hour of the podcast in sucession. You must physically move the next hour up and press play. Genius? I think not. So I'm not surprised at Siri's problems. I am surprised that millions of people have been duped so easily by a little flash and pizzazz that is Apple's mainstay. We bought an Apple desktop computer several years ago and returned it 2 days later when we couldn't figure out how to do the simplest tasks and when we realized that our relatively new printer wouldn't work with it. For me, Apple has always been more sizzle than steak.
My wife was intially the Apple proponent. First with the desktop, then the ipods. Now she's a very happy Android phone user as am I.
