You may have seen the video on YouTube of the 60-inch HDTV swiss cheesed by a firing squad of Saints fans. TV owner, Wayne A. Spring of Louisiana made a bet that if the Saints beat the Redskins folks could shoot his TV. Even Spring himself got in on the action. Bored with bullets, one man runs head-first into the tube.
I found the video painful to watch. I don’t have a problem with firearms nor with television sets. I in fact have felt similar impulses. Spring posted the video which is perhaps best viewed as a cultural documentary. It felt so wrong to watch a working TV destroyed.
Spring said he would not bet against Saints again. If he does, why not donate instead of destroy?
