What to Watch on Saturday: NFL honors and great late night music

My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - Jackson Galaxy helps a woman whose cat attacks her roommate every chance it gets. I say, maybe the cat knows something she doesn't know. Also, some newlyweds move into a new house and then their cats suddenly no longer get along.

NFL Honors (9pm, NBC) - In advance of this weekend's Super Bowl, the NFL salutes its top players and plays in Indianapolis. Host Alec Baldwin is joined by celebrities and NFL stars, and awards are presented to NFL MVP, Coach of the Year, and the Walter Payton Man of the Year.

Don't miss: John Mulaney stand-up special

Not much more to say about this new Comedy Central stand-up special, "John Mulaney: New in Town," besides it's funny. Very, very funny.

Mulaney is a 29-year-old writer for "Saturday Night Live" (he's the brains behind Bill Hader's "Stefon" character). He's a little nerdy and not really what you'd call edgy (at least not on basic cable) -- but he's still hilarious. His riff on the acting skills of "Law & Order: SVU" actor Ice T had me cracking up. "You mean, it's like when someone eats a lot of chocolate cake, and they can't stop eating chocolate cake?" You'll see what I mean.

This is Mulaney's first one-hour special (he was featured in a half-hour "Comedy Central Presents" special in 2009, which I'm going to look for online right now). It won't be his last.

There's a clip from the show below.

The Firm (8pm, NBC) - If you missed the two-hour premiere of this new drama last Sunday, and it sounds like a whole lot of you did, you can watch tonight. But just like on Sunday, it's opposite a big NFL game (AFC Divisional game on CBS).

And how's this for cool: We got a chance to interview Galaxy on Thursday!

Scotty McCreery sings a Christmas song with Michael Buble (sort of)

Not sure how this slipped by us for so long, but it's a gem. This skit from last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" has Michael Buble recording a Christmas Duets album with some of today's biggest singing stars (many of those stars were portrayed by host Jimmy Fallon). They're all really hilarious, including the Scotty McCreery bit. Scotty is portrayed by Taran Killam.

I haven't seen this so I'm not sure how it varies from the official story of Santa Claus ("Santa Claus is Comin' to Town") but they better not take too many liberties here!
