Taylor leaving Green Hope

Bookmark and Share

Kevin Taylor, coach of both the boys and girls Green Hope tennis teams, will not return next year to coach the Falcons next season.

Taylor has been the head coach of both squads over the last two seasons and has 91 percent winning percentage. He is 36-3 with the boys and 37-4 with the girls.

Green Hope (19-1) was eliminated in the third round of this year's NCHSAA boys tennis playoffs by Broughton.

"I really [feel] like I'm leaving Green Hope tennis in very good hands to whomever my successor is going to be," Taylor said. "I told them I was very proud of our season, our effort and the kind of character they showed as tennis players this year."

Taylor will be moving "somewhere up north" to be closer to his son, who plays hockey.
