Scores & Standings: Tri-Nine volleyball at midway point

Bookmark and Share

We're halfway through the Tri-Nine Conference volleyball season. Here's a look at the conference standings.

EDIT: I went back on Tuesday, after the Monday night Panther Creek/Cary volleyball match, to update the volleyball standings again. Cary won 3-0.

  Team W L Conference W L
1. Apex   11 0   8 0
2. Green Hope 10 2   7 1
3. Athens Drive 8 4   5 3
4. Cary 8 3   5 3
5. Panther Creek 7 4   4 4
6. Holly Springs 4 6   3 5
7. Middle Creek 3 7   3 5
8. Fuquay-Varina 4 7   1 7
9. Lee County 2 11   0 8

Only the top five teams are assured playoff spots in the NCHSAA 4-A brackets. There is no conference tournament, so the regular season will dictate the seeds.

A few notes on the Tri-Nine:

  • Only one team, Green Hope, has been able to snag a game away from Apex. That came in a 3-1 Apex win.
  • Middle Creek, hoping to return to the playoffs after making it last year for the first time in school history, upset Panther Creek 3-2.
  • By virtue of a 3-1 decision while going head-to-head, Holly Springs has the slight edge over Middle Creek.
  • Athens Drive has taken at least one game from all of its opponents except for Apex. The Jaguars lost 3-1 to Green Hope and 3-2 to Panther Creek.
