Middle Creek vs Christ School live blog

Bookmark and Share

I've tried for about seven times to write the intro to this blog, but screw it. In short, I hate Mozilla and I hate whatever "Internal Service Error" caused me to lose everything I had typed. Let's just get to the point then:

--11-7 Christ School early. Christ School's Mason Plumlee has looked really good as has Tom Tankelewicz for the Mustangs

--Middle Creek is still down 15-7 and coach David Kushner calls a timeout. 2:09 left in the first.

--Talk about a turn of events! Christ School's Lakeem Jackson (headed to South Carolina) dunks allllllll over Middle Creek's Maurice Basden as he's fouled. He then follows that up by airballing the free throw. 19-7 Christ School.

--After one, it's 21-7 Christ School. Middle Creek is all over the rim with their shots but can't get anything to fall. Just as I type that, of course, Tankelewicz drains a three to open the second.

--Two straight breakaway dunks have me believing in Mason Plumlee, who's also heading to Duke next year with Ravenscroft's Ryan Kelly. He can run the floor and is strong with the ball.

--Middle Creek continues to being run out of the gym. Christ School is turning every rebound or steal into a fast-break, and that's scary since they've all started right around the low block.

--Kushner calls another timeout here in the second after an alley-oop to Jackson makes it 36-16 in Christ School's favor. And I don't know what the PA people are doing, but there's an obsession with Michael Jackson. I've heard everything from "Billy Jean" to "Thriller" to songs from the Jackson 5 days.

--Mason Plumlee throws down a no-look reverse jam as he goes along the sideline, and it should be noted Chris Collins is back today (and this time it's legal) along with Steve Wojciechowski. They've got to be pleased, as Christ is up at the half, 41-18.

--Garrius Adams has six points at half, Tankelewicz has eight.

--If this score holds, Middle Creek would be playing again on Monday at 4 p.m. against Southern Lee, which fell today 72-55 to Kinston despite 31 points from Akeem Richmond (Kinston's Reggie Bullock had 33).

--I give Adams credit, he's trying out there, but you've got to hit a free throw! He gets fouled twice on two straight drives (one was full-court) but he misses each foul shot!

--You can add N.C. State assistant Larry Harris and UNC assistant Joe Holladay as two other coaches I've recognized in attendance for some of today's games.

--Mason Plumlee throws down another no-look reverse slam and catches an alley-oop. There's no answer for him on Middle Creek's side as Adams is struggling mightily. 47-18 Christ School with just under six minutes to play in the third.

--First half stats tell the story. Middle Creek shot 15.4 percent from three and 30.8 from the field. Add in nine turnovers and the fact that Christ School shot 59.4 percent and you've got a recipe for "yikes!"

--It's 52-27 as Tankelewicz connects on a 3-point attempt. Three minutes left in the third.

--At the end of three, Christ School still leads, but Middle Creek posts its best quarter yet. 58-34 is your score.

--Four minutes left, and it's 66-42 Christ School. Adams has gotten better as the game moved along, but it's too little too late. The only thing you can say Christ School has done wrong was pick their mascot name. The Greenies? Really?

--All the starters for both teams are on the bench now, and this one is all but done. With one minute left, Marshall Plumlee (little brother of Mason) is on the line with the score 70-45 in Christ School's favor.

--And that's your final: 70-45 Christ School. Ravenscroft vs Panther Creek is next.

I definitely agree over

I definitely agree over these last few years, a lot of health conscious families and individuals have been searching for alternative routes for more nutritious diets. I live in San Francisco area, although the economy is not as robust as before, but when I go to farmers markets, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, there are still a good amount of people shopping there all the time.
