--Apex's Weston Murphy hits a 3 to go up 7-5, but it's quickly erased as Matt Wilson and Ryan Kelly get dunks. How Apex matches up with the height will determine how long they can hang in it.
--After the first quarter, it's 17-7. Apex is doing a good job defensively, but you've got to wonder where the scoring's going to come from. Story all year for the Cougars, really...
--It's 34-16 in Ravenscroft's favor with 2:45 left in the second. Apex is getting open shots from their offense, but haven't been able to knock anything down.
--Apex's Adam Perry hits an up-and-under layup that has the crowd in awe. Getting the shot off when you've got a 7-footer like Wilson on you is awfully hard.
--At half, it's 42-24 Ravenscroft. Murphy hit a three with less than 10 seconds on the clock, and is Apex's lone scoring option at this point.
--Weston Murphy beats Wilson off the dribble and lays it over top Kelly. The kid is having a monster game. He's the third-best player on the floor tonight, behind only Kelly and the point guard
--Murphy, who had 11 points at half, comes out firing and Apex is climbing back into it - granted, it's 46-30.
--Apex had cut it to 13, but some transition points fueled by point guard Madison Jones (can't believe that kid is a freshman!) have made this thing a 54-36 game after three.
--Weston Murphy has to have 20+ at this point. He's the sole reason why Apex has it back down to 13 points with 5 minutes left in the fourth. 58-45 Ravenscroft.
--Murphy blows by Wilson and lays it in overtop Kelly. He's having a monster game, and I'd say he's the third-best player on the court behind only Kelly and the point guard Jones.
--Apex, clearly winded, has allowed a wide-open dunk to Wilson in transition and a and-one to another Ravenscroft player. It's 67-50 pending the free throw. 2:04 left.
--Kelly and Wilson are cooling on the bench, and now so is Weston Murphy, who got a nice applause as he went to the bench. 13 ticks left, 71-56 Ravenscroft.
--This one is in the books. Apex showed well in this one, a lot better than I expected. Murphy, at final count, had a game-high 23 points. Wilson had 18 and Kelly had 21.
