Holly Springs' Collins named to East-West game

Bookmark and Share
Graduated Holly Springs football player Dan Collins was named to the North Carolina East-West All-Star game, making him the first player in school history to receive such an honor. Collins plans on walking-on to East Carolina's football team next year.

Collins was a two-time selection to the Greater Neuse's All-Conference team and was Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. He was a captain for all three years of existence for the Golden Hawks and a two-time team MVP.

He posted 100 tackles as a junior and came back even stronger with 151 tackles, two forced fumbles, one recovered fumble, one blocked field goal and one interception returned for touchdown as a senior.

The game will be on July 22, at 8 p.m., at Jamieson Stadium at Greensboro Grimsley High School.
