Carolina Junior Championships move to final round

With rain on the first day, a number of competitors at the 60th Carolinas Junior Championship were forced to play rounds one and two yesterday on the Dogwood course at The Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C.

Apex rising senior Andy Knox is in fourth overall, firing a 70 in the first round and 74 in the second for a 2-over score thus far. Knox joined in the top 10 by former Apex teammate and now-graduated John Conners (3-over).

Just making the cut was Fuquay-Varina 2009 grad Harrison Ashworth with 6-over par and Holly Springs rising junior Grant Houser is tied for 21st place after scores of 72 and 79 put him at 7-over.

The final round is set to be played today. Someone from the Southwest part of Wake County has won this event in each of the past two years.
