N.C. State guard Lorenzo Brown was named ACC Player of the Week today after averaging 19.0 points, 8.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of wins last week over Campbell and Western Carolina.

Å sophomore from Roswell, Ga., Brown shot 63 percent (12-of-19) from the floor in the two games. In Thursday’s win over Campbell, Brown had 24 points, eight assists and eight steals. Two nights later, he finished with 14 points and eight assists in only 28 minutes against Western Carolina.

For the second straight week, Duke’s Quinn Cook was selected ACC Rookie of the Week. A freshman guard from Bowie, Md., Cook averaged 11.0 points, 8.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in a pair of non-conference wins.

In Friday’s 110-70 victory over Western Michigan, Cook had a career-high 16 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Sunday, he finished with six points and a career-high nine assists in an 85-55 victory over Pennsylvania.

If it's true...

I've read some comments about it. Nothing's concrete. Tenuta's also been linked to other jobs. And we all know Tenuta's been a journeyman in the coaching ranks. Either way, had to figure it'd potentially happen at some point. Can't blame anyone for seeking a raise in salary and status.

If it is true, I wish he'd take that bum Archer with him. Though, I think Archer and Tenuta kinda balanced each other out with their different schemes and viewpoints of how a defense should work.

Tenuta

Tenure leaving ncsu to become the defensive coordinator at Illinois.

if true

Then the Illinois coaching change is a double-whammy for the Pack. UNC got a good DC from Illinois and would lose the guy that many think was primarily responsible for any success its attacking defense had.

Gone

Great while it lasted. But as the announcers say during the White Sox game broadcast, "he gone!"
