The mostly dreary weather on Monday had an attendance number to match: Only 51,781 people braved the N.C. State Fair yesterday. That's not bad compared to 2002, when only 34,563 people went to the fair (I checked the weather for October 21, 2002 and it was 56 degrees and raining -- brrrr).
Monday is typically the least-attended day of the fair. The 10-year average for Monday is 59,140.
