More games on MLB Network

Bookmark and Share

Here's a bit for good news for baseball fans, like a Dixie cup of water for someone dying of thirst:

The new MLB Network is doubling the number of live games it is televising this season — from 26 games to 52 — by adding Saturday night coverage to its Thursday night schedule. The first is Saturday with the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Arizona Diamondbacks at 8 p.m.

In a market where the designated home teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals, can't be seen because of Time Warner Cable's refusal to carry MASN, how did MLB Network manage to get on TWC's basic digital cable lineup? TWC owns a piece of the baseball network.

Here's the schedule of MLB Network games for April and May:

8 p.m. Saturday, April 11 Dodgers at Diamondbacks
1 p.m. Thursday, April 16 Indians at Yankees
8 p.m. Thursday, April 16 Blue Jays at Twins
7 p.m. Saturday, April 18 Padres at Phillies
8 p.m. Thursday, April 23 Dodgers at Astros
7 p.m. Saturday, April 25 Phillies at Marlins
7 p.m. Thursday, April 30 Red Sox at Rays
9 p.m. Saturday, May 2 Athletics at Mariners
7 p.m. Thursday, May 7 Phillies at Mets
7 p.m. Saturday, May 9 Cardinals at Reds
8 p.m. Thursday, May 14 Orioles at Royals*
7 p.m. Saturday, May 16 Rockies at Pirates
8 p.m. Thursday, May 21 Cubs at Cardinals
7 p.m. Saturday, May 23 Mets at Red Sox

*May be blacked out locally.
