Hats off to Jeff Williams, a Carolina Hurricanes fan and Dish Network HD Turbo subscriber who recently signed up for the satellite service and was disappointed that he couldn't get the Fox Sports Carolinas telecasts of live Canes games.
Williams called the Canes, Fox Sports Carolinas and Dish to ask why he wasn't getting the live games, and to make a long story shorter, he got a call back from a Dish information technology guy last night letting him know the game was on alternate channel 445. Williams was told that after further research, Dish determined that it was able to feed the alternate sports channels that the satellite company sets aside for such telecasts to all Dish HD Turbo subscribers, meaning that more than 200,000 people who weren't getting the Canes and the Charlotte Bobcats can now watch them.
Likely, Dish will continue to use the 444-450 channels for those sports telecasts.
Something about the squeaky wheel comes to mind.Â
