Only two Triangle champs were crowned in this fall's team sports -- Durham Academy field hockey and St. David's volleyball.

Southeast Raleigh High School to play in 2013 Kick-Off Classic event in Myrtle Beach

First-year Bulldogs coach Marvin Burke said Monday that Southeast has agreed to play in the 2013 Derrick Law Firm Kick-Off Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Labor Day Weekend 2013.

He was an assistant football coach who knew little about coaching football and who coached kickers, although he knew nothing about kicking a football.
"No legs, no problem" for former East Wake wrestler
Submitted by timstevens on 07/12/2012 - 08:15Lance Benson scrawled "No legs, no problem" across the front scrap of his wrestling helment when he was a high school senior at East Wake High in 1991.
He still uses the same slogan, because, he said, it sums up his life very well.
"I have no legs, but that's not a problem," Benson said this week.
National Federation offers heat illness prevention course

This year high school football practice at N.C. High School Athletic Association schools officially begin Monday, July 30.
