Ty Howle wins Carolina Panthers honor

Ty Howle of Bunn, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound football center, has been named as a Carolina Panthers Community Captain for the 2008 season.

The NFL team will award 10 high school players in North Carolina and 10 in South Carolina during the season for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Howle has committed to Penn State.
He is ranked seventh in his graduating class and has been on the honor roll every semester. He has received academic awards in English, science and history.
Howle is the first of the 10 North Carolina players to be recognized.
