State's top junior may transfer

Quincy Miller, one of the top ranked high school junior basketball players in the country, may be changing schools next season.

Miller attended Quality Education, a North Carolina charter school in Winston-Salem, last season.

Pat Kahny, the athletic director and basketball coach at High Point Westchester Country Day School, said Miller's application to the private school was being processed.

"As the athletic director and boys basketball coach, I have pretty much stayed out of this," Kahny said. "But I think we'll know within the next couple of days."

Miller, a 6-foot-8 forward, is the No. 7-ranked prospect in the Class of 2011 by Scout.com. The Chicago native already has scholarship offers from programs such as Duke and Kentucky.

If Miller transfers to Westchester, he is expected to be paired with 6-3 Deuce Bello, who also is ranked among the top 100 juniors in the country.

Westchester finished 27-2 last season.
