Southeast Raleigh hurdler sets national record

Southeast Raleigh’s Wayne Davis II set the national high school record for the indoor 60-meters hurdles this weekend with a 7.60 in the Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston.


New Bern’s Fuquawn Greene, running with Track Eastern Carolina, won the 200 meters (21.53).


Millbrook freshman Samantha George won the Nike Indoor freshman girls mile (5:09.37).


Track Eastern Carolina, using New Bern High athletes, won national titles in the 4x200, 4x400,  and sprint medley relays.


Durham Jordan’s Torrance Hunt was second in the 60 meters sprint with a 6.72.
