High-scoring Akeem Richmond is transferring from Rhode Island to East Carolina.
The former Southern Lee star, who averaged 29.2 points per game as a senior, started 26 last year at Rhode Island as a sophomore and averaged 9.3 points.
He will sit out one season before he is eligible to play for Coach Jeff Lebo's Pirates.
He completed his high school career with 2,846 points, one of the highest totals ever in the state, and was a three-time all-state selection.
