Purvis picked for national game

Raleigh Upper Room Christian’s Rodney Purvis has been selected  to play in the 2011 Boost Mobile Elite 24 all-star event in Los Angeles on August 26-27 at Venice Beach.

The 24 underclassmen were chosen by ESPN Rise.

The 2011 Boost Mobile Elite 24 (Saturday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. ET) and the Under Armour Slam Dunk Contest (Friday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m.) will both air live on ESPNU.

Purvis is ranked among the top high school point guards in the country.
