For one school, it's the upcoming football game that caused a need to reschedule basketball games. For the other, it's the one that just passed that will do the same.
Panther Creek, who has a state semifinal to play this Friday in football, has pushed back its Tri-Nine Conference boys and girls basketball games against Fuquay-Varina. The games were originally scheduled for Friday. That way, all parents and students at Panther Creek are free to support the Catamounts in their football game.
Their new dates have not been announced.
Win or lose, it's unlikely Panther Creek's boys basketball team will be full strength by next Tuesday for another Tri-Nine game at Apex. That game has been pushed to Jan. 12. The girls game at Panther Creek will go on as scheduled.
Lee County, coming off a 42-22 loss to Hillside last Friday, isn't ready to start conference play yet. Their boys basketball game at Apex, originally slated for tonight, has been pushed back to Dec. 13. The girls game will go on as scheduled.
