Nunn throws no-hitter in second round

Holly Springs pitcher Erica Nunn, a sophomore, threw a no-hitter in the second round of the NCHSAA 4-A playoffs in a 1-0 win over Person County on Friday.

Nunn also had a double in the victory. Holly Springs did commit two errors in the game.

The team will host in the third round either Tuesday or Wednesday. It is the first time in school history the Golden Hawks have participated in the third round.

Nunn has verbally committed to the University of South Florida.
