N&O football rankings

I feel pretty good about having Wake Forest-Rolesville and Millbrook ranked Nos. 1 and 2, but I'm not as comfortable with Chapel Hill at No. 3. The Tigers play at Smithfield-Selma on Friday and it will be interesting to see how they fare.

I dropped Southern Durham out of the ranking even though I still think the Spartans have one of the best teams around. They just had no offense at all in the loss to Hertford County and they are 0-2 and staring at 0-3. Southern is a huge underdog, in my mind at least, this week at home against Wake Forest-Rolesville.

Apex or Enloe. Enloe or Apex. The nod finally sent to Apex at No. 11, because I'm not sure how good the Enloe defense is. I'm excited about Friday's game between Enloe and Southeast Raleigh.  I don't know if Enloe will be able to run on the big Southeast line.

A team that has caught my eye is West Johnston. One week, it runs. The next week, it passes.
