New girls soccer No. 1s: Leesville Road, N.C. Science and Math

Two Triangle No. 1 teams said goodbye to their top ranking this week, while two other Triangle teams swooped in to take the top spot back.

Leesville Road is back on top of the 4-A girls soccer rankings this week after previous No. 1 Green Hope lost 1-0 to Panther Creek last week. Raleigh Charter lost its No. 1 ranking in the 1-A poll, surrendering the top spot to Carolina 10 Conference rival N.C. School of Science and Mathematics.

Also ranked No. 1 this week: Cardinal Gibbons (3-A NCHSAA) and Ravenscroft (3-A NCISAA). Gibbons has a big Wednesday match with No. 8 Chapel Hill this week.

Breaking into the top 15 for the first time this season is West Johnston. Here are all area teams ranked in this week's Eurosportscoreboard polls (by classification):

4-A: Leesville Road 1st, Green Hope 2nd, Apex 6th, Panther Creek 8th, Wakefield 11th, West Johnston 15th

3-A: Cardinal Gibbons 1st, Chapel Hill 8th

2-A: Carrboro 3rd, Northwood 7th

1-A: N.C. School of Science and Mathematics 1st, Raleigh Charter 4th, North Moore 12th, Midway 14th

3-A (independent schools): Ravenscroft 1st, Durham Academy 4th, Cary Academy 8th

2-A (independent schools): Cary Christian 2nd, St. David's 3rd, Carolina Friends 5th
