NCSCA names all-state soccer teams

The N.C. Soccer Coaches Association released their 2011 all-state teams. The teams are broken into five categories based on classification.

Cardinal Gibbons led the area with the most selections -- three -- while fellow state champion N.C. Science & Math, along with many other area teams, had two selections. 4A champion Green Hope had one selection, as did 2A runner-up Carrboro.

Private (NCISAA teams) all-state:

  • Ryan Kaufman, senior forward, Cary Academy
  • Hayden Gridley, senior midfielder, Ravenscroft
  • Michael Pollard, junior goalkeeper, Durham Academy

1A all-state:

  • James Andrews, senior forward, N.C. Science & Math
  • Zach Herbst, senior defender, N.C. Science & Math
  • Jacque LeBlanc, senior midfielder, Raleigh Charter

2A all-state:

  • Steven Disla, senior forward, Durham School of the Arts
  • Sam Hickey, senior midfielder, Carrboro

3A all-state:

  • Yanni Hackem, junior forward, Cardinal Gibbons
  • Adi Taiwo, sophomore forward, Cardinal Gibbons
  • Tyler Zimmerman, senior forward, Cardinal Gibbons

4A all-state

  • Joaquin Del Rosario, senior forward, Jordan
  • Dylan Ejlali, senior midfielder, Sanderson
  • Kellen Foster, junior midfielder, Green Hope
  • Adrian Gonzales, senior forward, Fuquay-Varina
  • Griffin Hefner, senior defender, East Wake
  • Alex Herbst, senior midfielder, Apex
  • Nick Kruyer, senior defender, Pinecrest
