NCISAA field hockey playoffs announced

The 2011 N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association announced their 12-team playoff bracket for field hockey. Ravenscroft's undefeated team received the top seed and a first-round bye.

Competition begins this Saturday. The quarterfinals are on Oct. 25 and played at the higher seed. Greensboro Day School will host the semifinals and finals on Oct. 28 and 29. Here are the match-ups:

#1 Ravenscroft (16-0), first-round bye -- plays 8/9 winner

#8 Cary Academy (10-9) at Asheville Carolina Day School (8-3)

#4 Durham Academy (12-4), first round bye -- plays 5/12 winner

#12 Asheville School (3-8) at #5 Charlotte Country Day (9-4)

#3 Charlotte Providence Day School (14-5), first round bye -- plays 6/11 winner

#11 St. Mary's School (1-13) at #6 Forsyth Country Day (11-5)

#2 Charlotte Latin (12-1), first-round bye -- plays 7/10 winner

#10 Greensboro Day (6-8) at #7 Wilmington Cape Fear Academy (6-3)
