NCHSAA statewide Wells Fargo Cup standings

The N.C. High School Athletic Association announced the standings after the fall sports season for the statewide Wells Fargo Cup, an award given to the top athletic programs in the state based on their postseason performance.

The Cup program is in its 33rd year, but first year since changing its name from Wachovia to Wells Fargo.

Three Triangle schools sit atop their respective classification's standings, two of which are defending Cup champions.

Green Hope is still atop the 4A class, where they were at the end of last year, as is defending 3A champion Cardinal Gibbons. Durham's N.C. Science & Math is tops in 1A.

Carrboro is the highest-ranking Triangle team in the 2A standings, behind defending 2A Cup champ Salisbury.
