Defensive coach Josh Pardue’s squad recovered five fumbles, intercepted two passes and blocked a 20-yard field goal try to preserve the shutout in the Wildcats’ 49-0 victory over host East Wake.
Broughton bombs Panther Creek
Submitted by timstevens on 09/05/2008 - 22:43RALEIGH — Broughton scored three straight defensive touchdowns in the fourth quarter to break open a tight contest with Panther Creek and tame the Catamounts 38-2.
The Caps (2-1) led 14-2 entering the final period, but in less than four minutes the got a 35-yard interception for a touchdown from sophomore safety Juston Burris, a 37-yard interception return for a TD by junior linebacker Ryan Goodwin, and finally a 51-yard interception return for a score by Burriss. Three touchdowns without the offense ever stepping on the field and the Caps led 35-2.
Middle Creek upends Sanderson

Despite the rainy conditions, sophomore Mustangs quarterback Garrett Leatham passed for 182 yards. He completed 10 of 14 passes in the first half before the hardest downpours arrived.
St. David's, Hobgood combine for 1,000 yards rushing

RALEIGH — St. David’s and Hobgood Academy combined for 1,109 rushing yards in an eight-man football game Friday night.
St. David’s rushed 32 times for 691 yards while Hobgood rushed 54 times for 418.
St. David’s sophomore Raine McMillian rushed 14 times for 435 yards.
Nine touchdowns were scored on plays of 40 yards or longer, including a 89-yard pas and a 91-yard run.
