
Keith Marshall has been rated the No. 3 high school football prospect in the state by Rivals.com, a national recruiting website.
Marshall (pictured above), who is rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals, trails only offensive lineman D.J. Humphries of Charlotte's Mallard Creek and defensive end Jonathan Bullard of Boiling Springs's Crest HS.
Jordan's Phillip Williamson was the only other Triangle player that made the top 10. Williamson, a linebacker who recorded 127 tackles and six interceptions last year, is verbally committed to North Carolina.
Hillside defensive end Jamal Marcus checks in at No. 13, while Broughton running back Chris Mangus is No. 18. Pinecrest offensive lineman Bryce Kennedy is rated No. 20
Panther Creek tight end Dan Beilinson, a Duke verbal commit, is No. 23. Person County offensive lineman Casey Lawson is No. 25.
J.J. Patterson of Roanoke Rapids, which competes in the Northern Carolina Conference along with area teams like Franklinton, Bunn and Corinth-Holders, was rated No. 9 in the state. Patterson, a defensive lineman, is verbally committed to North Carolina.
