Marcus picks Ohio State

Bookmark and Share

Durham Hillside linebacker Jamal Marcus said he wanted to go to Ohio State as soon as he spoke with new Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer.

Marcus, 6-foot-3, 225-pounds, chose the Buckeyes after narrowing his list to East Carolina, N.C. State, the University of Florida and Ohio State.

He said he enjoyed his visit to Ohio State, but said one of the biggest reasons he chose the Buckeyes is its tradition.

"I know I will have a chance to play for a national championship," he said at a ceremony where 11 Hillside players signed their national letters of intent.

Hillside coach Antonio King noted that the seniors had played on three Piedmont Athletic Conference championships, post an undefeated season and won a state championship.
