Will Orbin, the offensive coordinator at Leesville Road High, has been named as the head football coach at Holly Springs High.
Orbin succeeds Dave Riggs, who announced his resignation in December.
Leesville Road was 12-1 in 2011 and averaged 51.5 points, 485.7 total yards and 373.4 rushing yards. The club also set the school scoring record with 670 points.
Orbin has 18 years of coaching experience, including tenure as a high school head football coach, offensive coordinator and as a coach in two Division I FCS college football programs.
Orbin came to LRHS from Griffin (Ga.) High, which was of 23-3 over the 2009 and 2010 seasons. The Griffin program set the all-time school scoring record in 2009 scoring 498 points in 14 games.
Orbin served as head football coach for one year (2004) at East Rowan (NC) High School and was the North Piedmont 3A Conference Coach of the Year and Rowan County Coach of the Year. In the 1990s he was the offensive coordinator at Southeast Raleigh High School and the offensive coordinator at Broughton High School.
Orbin’s collegiate and high school coaching experience also includes stops at Elon University, Indiana State University (IN), and Campbell High
Orbin also is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Just Cause. He earned his bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University and holds a post-baccalaureate certification from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Brandi, have twins Benjamin and Regan (7).
