Jeremy Jeffers, a 6-foot-6 basketball forward, committed Thursday to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jeffers averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for a 31-6 Wilson Greenfield club that reached the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A semifinals. Greenfield lost to eventual champion Charlotte United Faith.
"I think he is going to have a fine college career," said Greenfield coach Rob Salter. "He is a terrific student in the classroom and he is a very smart basketball player. He understands the game."
Jeffers also received interest from Harvard, Appalachian State, Winthrop, Bucknell and Virginia Commonwealth.
"Jeremy improved a great deal during the summer, but he has just scratched the surface of his potential," Salter said. "I think he is going to continue to improve."
