Gaffney, Ingram named N.C. players of the year

Denzel Ingram of Chapel Hill and Kristen Gaffney of Green Hope have been named the North Carolina high school boys and girls players of the year by ncpreps.com.

Gaffney, a 6-foot senior, averaged 26 points per game and led the Falcons to the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A quarterfinals. She has signed with Vanderbilt.

Durham Jordan's Bayley Coleman-Cox, Millbrook's Briana Day and Siler City Jordan-Matthews' Mylia Garner were named to the all-state team.

Ingram averaged 23 points per game and led Chapel Hill to an undefeated regular season.
