Fuquay-Varina's Tyson Fernandez, one of the area's top linemen from this past season, has committed to play at Appalachian State next season.
The 6-foot-2, 315-pound senior has been recognized for his play on both sides of the ball, but plans on playing right guard for the Mountaineers.
Fernandez is a three-time all-conference selection over the past two seasons, earning first-team Tri-Nine Conference honors for offensive line twice and also being named to the second-team defensive line this year.
