Falcons pass Leesville in girls soccer rankings

Green Hope has surpassed Leesville Road as the top-ranked 4-A girls soccer team in the state. The move comes after Green Hope's 3-2 overtime win over Apex (a team that Leesville tied 0-0).

Cardinal Gibbons is still the top-ranked 3-A team in the state.

Among the others ranked in this week's Eurosportscoreboard polls (by classification):

4-A: Apex 4th, Wakefield 7th, Broughton 8th, Jordan 9th, Panther Creek 11th

3-A: Chapel Hill 6th

2-A: Carrboro 5th, Northwood 9th

1-A: Raleigh Charter 2nd, N.C. School of Science and Mathematics 3rd, North Moore 10th

3-A (independent schools): Ravenscroft 2nd, Durham Academy 6th, St. Mary's 9th, North Raleigh Christian 10th

2-A (independent schools): Cary Christian 3rd, St. David's 4th
