The Duke faithful must be excited by the play of runner Josh Snead of Smithfield-Selma.
Snead has committed to the Blue Devils and promises to bring tremendous speed to the program.
In last week's 55-20 loss to Southeast Raleigh, Snead rushed 25 times for 248 yards and scored all three touchdowns. He had scoring runs of 1, 63 and 70 yards.
This season, Snead has rushed for 17 touchdowns, scored twice on kickoff returns and returned a blocked field goal for another. Seven of his touchdowns have been on runs of more than 60 yards.
He has rushed for 1,334 yards and is averaging 6.7 yards per carry.
Smithfield-Selma, which plays Garner on Friday, has scored 23 touchdowns this season. Snead has accounted for 20, including the Spartans' last 10 touchdowns.
