Quincy Miller, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound basketball forward at Winston-Salem Quality Education Academy, picked up a scholarship offer from Duke this week.
Miller has more than 100 offers, according to Quality Education coach Issac Pitts.
"And I don't mean just any 100," Pitts said. "He has an offer from just about any major basketball program you can thought of. Wake Forest offered last week and he already had offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Memphis, Tennessee, Michigan and almost everybody else."
Miller is a native of Chicago, but is the legal guardian of an uncle who lives in Lumberton.
He is 16 years old and has a wingspan of 7-foot, 3 inches.
"He can shoot the three like a two guard and handle like a two guard," Pitts said. "He has a great feel for the game and passes extremely well."
He has an overall grade point average of 3.8, the highest in the school, according to Pitts.
Quality Education is a charter school, which is a public school. It is not a member of the N.C. High School Athletic Association and plays a national basketball schedule. It played in eight states.
