Michael Cromie of Green Hope captured this year's Tri-Nine boys golf player of the
year honors after finishing the season with a 35.3 stroke average.
Cromie narrowly defeated Andy Knox of Apex (35.8) and Alex Ehlert of
Athens Drive (also 35.8). Cromie, a senior signed to play at Georgia,
is the defending 4-A state champion and fired a 35 at the Tri-Nine
championships down in Anderson Creek Country Club on Monday.
Several Tri-Nine players will return next Monday to Anderson Creek to play in the Mideast Regional.
