Tim Adleman, a former basketball and baseball standout at Wakefield High, made a memorable professional baseball debut this week, throwing four shutout innings for the Aberdeen (Md.) IronBirds in a 9-3 loss to the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Adleman struck out three batters and walked none in his first pro game.
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 24th round of this year's draft. He had played four years of baseball at Georgetown.
He threw the first pitch in the New York Mets' Citi Field when Georgetown played St. John's there.
