Soccer players, think you've got the game to go pro?
The Carolina RailHawks are giving you a chance to find out.
Looking ahead to next season, the men's team will conduct an open tryout and the annual RailHawks Combine in December at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
The coaching staff will be looking at talented soccer players from the area and from outside of the state, according to a team news release.
The open tryout will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 6. The registration fee is $75. Two players from the tryout will be invited to the RailHawks' training camp in the spring.
The combine will be held on 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 17 and Dec. 18. The fee is $150. Participants will receive instruction and be evaluated by coaching staff. Outstanding players will be invited to training camp.
Tryout and combine participants must bring cleats and shin guards and are responsible for their own travel, lodging and food.
The RailHawks had a record of 16-7-7 and finished second, just three points behind the Portland (Ore.) Timbers, in the United Soccer Leagues First Division this past season.
