The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education, the visitor and learning facility operated by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission in Corolla, will be closed on Sundays, beginning May 31, due to budgetary constraints.
The center will remain open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as will the onsite Wild Store (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), which offers nature-oriented merchandise including books, posters, gifts, artwork and apparel. All proceeds from Wild Store purchases support conservation education projects and programs.
Signs will be placed at the center entrance alerting visitors to the schedule change.
