Will White and Alex Freeman (pictured on left), both members of the BassPack fishing club at N.C. State, are in tenth place after the first day of the 2009 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship at Lake Lewisville in Texas.

The pair had a five-bass limit weighing 15.42 pounds, anchored by a 8.52-pound largemouth that was big fish for the day and worth $1,000 and a fishing trip. Kalem Tippett and Vincent Campisano of Murray State lead over 70 teams with a first-day sack of 21.66 pounds.

The format has all the teams competing for two days with the aggregate weight determining the winners. For more information go here
