In Carrboro, Mayor Mark Chilton wants a third term.
Three Board of Aldermen members’ seats are up this fall: Jacquie Gist, Randee Haven-O’Donnell and John Herrera.
“There are no term limits in North Carolina, so any or all of the incumbents could run again (and I suspect most or all of them will),” Chilton wrote in an e-mail. “Also, my term is up this November and I will be seeking re-election.”
Chilton has been mayor since 2005, succeeding Mike Nelson, who is now an Orange County commissioner.
