A group of parents and others concerned about changes at Carrboro High School has formed an open Google group (that anyone can join) on "the issue of the inequity" at the school.
We reported earlier this week how parents were upset about the sudden ouster of the school's principal, after the school's first year, and about the dropping of several Advanced Placement and honors courses at the school. You can read our story here. Â

Thanks to all families of "drafted" students
Fri, 07/04/2008 - 08:32 — rabid1I would like to thank all of the families of students who were "drafted" to attend Carrboro High School. For the benefit of the entire CHCCS community "as a whole," their selflessness has helped to reduce overcrowding at the schools where the rest of our children attend.Â
I have no doubt that in the coming years, the offerings and educational opportunities at Carrboro will increase to the same level as the other two notable high schools in the district. Then, we will all look back in appreciation of those who were willing to personally sacrifice in order to lay the foundation for a better tomorrow.
In the big picture, there is no such thing as collateral damage. It is each and every student's obligation to advance the mission of the administration.
In the future, if you must organize, the superintendent would prefer that you not use any of his facilities without previously obtaining his permission.
Happy Fourth of July!
