Girlfriends Appalled about Sarah Palin? Ruth Sheehan wrote today about this growing group of women in Raleigh who have galvanized around actively supporting Barack Obama because they found John McCain’s vice presidential choice “cynical and insulting.”
Insulting to whom?
The people McCain is courting with his Palin pick are the “Focus on the Family” folks. It’s not as if most evangelicals were in love with John McCain. James Dobson had been pretty vocally opposed during the primary, in fact.
There are any number of criticisms that can be lobbed at McCain -- I’m not all that excited about the idea of shopping for my own health insurance, to be sure -- but to act like he’s stupid enough to think he’s going to woo women who had been supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton by waving Sarah Palin at them is just an outrage looking for an excuse.
The worldviews, policies and life experiences of Palin and Clinton are about as different as two women can have in America today. The number of women who had been supporting Clinton who will now vote for McCain because of Palin’s double-X chromosome situation is exactly two.
Those who want to be insulted by believing that McCain was pandering to them puzzle me. If you want to be insulted, be insulted that he wasn’t thinking of you at all.

I was a Hillary Clinton supporter at the end of the Primary season, but was pretty much undecided until the day of the Primary Election. I fully support the Obama Biden ticket now, and, no, I would never support anyone with Palin's weak credentials for Vice President, male or female.
Like GASP women, I guess, I could not be expected to have voted Republican, but that is not the point. We are not just not voting for Palin, we are embarassed that John McCain thought he could sway female voters into supporting his ticket by choosing someone like her.
She is an ideologue without the temperament to be a leader at the National level. I don't care what her gender.

As I said, there might be exactly two women in America who will put the double-X chromosome above all other considerations, who will say, "I don't care what she stands for as long as she's a woman." The N&O, like so many of the democrat owned media, is so biased in their views that I am surprised whenever any letter is printed showing anything good about McCain or Palin. Newspapers and TV news stations are supposed to print and report "news". They aren't supposed to pick and choose what they find favorable to their own agenda. But if you have watched any of the TV newscast (on anything other than FOX) you will see the worst for liberal newscasting. This is the same with the N&O and most of your large newspapers. Maybe when their rights, money and freedoms are taken away by corrupt politicians, they might change .... but I doubt it.

She also suspended the state fuel tax, and when oil and gas prices went up dramatically, and filled up the state treasury, she sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged - directly to the people of Alaska . McCain thinks war strategy in every move he makes. He blind sided the entire Democratic party. He shored up his stance, brought in fantastic reinforcements and obliterated the enemy.
