Yao vs. LeBron

Bookmark and Share

BEIJING - Check out this Coke commercial that's running through the Olympics.

I'm just wondering why Yao Ming's rocket-riding cartoon self doesn't totally bust through LeBron James' flying-on-the-wings-of-an-eagle cartoon self?

Obviously James won Sunday's round when the U.S. beat China in an Olympic basketball game on Yao's home turf. Cool commercial, though. I like the cartoon. Nice Mandarin, too, LeBron.

By the way, from what I can tell, the Chinese iin Beijing for the games like James but lo-oove them some Kobe. The 2008 NBA MVP just walked out onto the court on Sunday night for the U.S. game against China and the Chinese lost their minds. James actually had to dunk a few times to bring out the madness.

I hear LeBron is big in Shanghai. I wonder if being big in Shanghai, not Beijing, is like being big in Cleveland, not Los Angeles?

Hmm. Can anyone answer that one?
