Yates tweaks NCAA on Twitter

Bookmark and Share

Quarterback T.J. Yates made the first public comments by a member of the UNC football program about the NCAA's investigation into the Tar Heels on Monday night.

Yates made a joke on his Twitter account, JTsetay, about receiving a golf lesson from a former teammate.

"…dont [sic] worry NCAA its [sic] ok we've got a prior relationship," Yates wrote on Monday night at about 7:30 p.m.

Yates' tweet suggests the NCAA is aware of the content on Marvin Austin's Twitter account. Austin and Greg Little have been interviewed by the NCAA about improper contact with a sports agent.

Kevin Best, the spokesman for the UNC football team, said Yates was unavailable for comment and directed all questions to athletic director Dick Baddour.

Baddour declined to comment on Tuesday. Last Thursday Baddour said that NCAA investigators had been to Chapel Hill to "speak with some of our student-athletes" without providing further detail.

JTsetay

Oprah wannabe.

Just another reason for UNC fans to be worried about this kid.

As a UNC guy...

The NCAA is looking at tweets of players with potential agent contact......One must ask does this situation apply?

Stupid or funny...

either way, I don't understand poking the bear while he is feasting on something or someone else.

Exactly

I'm sure Yates' lame pun will be intercepted (pun intended) by certain coaches at unc that won't find his brazen "twitting" so funny.

Keep it quiet until the big boys of the NCAA are well out of town and looking somewhere else.

Haha

That's actually pretty funny.  Hopefully this is the beginning of a year in which TJ Yates keeps all jokes off the field.

That's what we like to call

That's what we like to call "stupid."
