Briarcliff Elementary School music specialist Janice Wilson teaches her students about The Nutcracker Ballet on Friday morning December 12, 2008. Wilson, a eighteen year veteran of Briarcliff Elementary in Cary, began teaching the Nutcracker five years, and encouraged students and teachers to bring their Nutcracker statues to school for one week. Her first year she collected fifty statues. This year more than 200 grace her classroom. Wilson plays Tchaikovsky over the stereo speakers in her classroom, and encourages her students to waltz around the room.
