The Tuesday morning explosion caused the walls and part of the roof of a section of the facility to collapse. At least 41 workers were taken to area hospitals, where they are now recovering from minor to severe injuries.

The disaster at ConAgra's Slim Jim plant in Garner has had a devastating impact on the community. In addition to the three workers who lost their lives when the plant exploded last Tuesday, there were also over 40 people who were injured in the blast, and some are still hospitalized with severe burns.

It was tragedy. A massive explosion ripped through the ConAgra plant in North Carolina while about 300 employees were working. The explosion killed three employees and injured at least 38 others. Three of the responding firefighters were also treated for chemical inhalation. Our deepest condolences must be expressed to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims of this tragedy.
